Hello and a wonderful Monday to you all!
As usual it is my day here, to post a creation and I
built it from one of Lynne's beautiful Affirmations.
Starting with one of the great white/greyboard
panels with rounded corners, which I love creating on, as it takes both paints
and water so wonderful.
First it was covered with a layer of
gesso and after it had dried, I mixed the black and white Multi Surface Paints to
create a light grey tone for the whole
background. On top of that, I used the beautiful
Poinsettia Tree stencil, with Fired Brick Ink. With the Dinky stencil Harlequin, a frame was created with Jet Black
ink.
Then I used the Dinky Stencil Hearts,
in the left upper corner, with texture paste and left it to dry overnight.
I have fallen in love with the Hearts
Greyboard Bits and Pieces and used a middle size heart. It was painted with white
and then covered in leftover grey paint, in spots and left to dry.
Next, I used Distress Crackle Paint
over the heart and while drying, one of Tim Holtz Ancestor Paper Dolls - a
wedding pair, was distressed using the very thinned Brown paint.
The heart dried, was then given a
coat of the Fired Brick ink and rubbed away with a baby wipe, several times,
over and over, till I was satisfied with the tone. Next I did the same with
diluted Black paint until I could see black lines in the cracking surface.
I rolled an old page from a
dictionary, held it together with string and adhered it to the heart with lace,
dipped into grey paint, together with a pair of ‘flower buds’. The rolled document
was also distressed a bit with Fired Brick and diluted Brown.
The stenciled hearts carefully were
covered with Fired Brick, using a finger. Also, a little doodling was done with
a white Posca around the heads of the couple, the perimeter and in the stenciled
poinsettia flower.

from Set 3 was stamped onto coloured copy paper, cut out to fit the panel and
glued on.
