This week
I am sharing a tag (That’s Crafty! MDF tag) featuring some new Prima products
and new Dinky Stencils (Cogs and Clocks).
I also incorporated resin paper, which is fast becoming a favourite of
mine. Recently I’ve been including small
pieces on my projects, this week it features more prominently.
This
tag combines many textures, I adore texture so imagine the fun I had working on
this!
Supplies
That's Crafty! Dinky Stencils:- Cogs Background, Clock Background
Staz-on
Timber Brown
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish:- Toffee, Old Gold and French Roast
Prima Frank Garcia Memory Hardware Artisian Powder –
Chapeliere, Parthenay, Vausseroux
Translucent Embossing Paste (I worked with Ranger but That’s Crafty! stock several brands)
Ice
Resin*
Chain
(substitute with Idea-ology)
Jump Ring (substitute with Idea-ology)
Extras:- Vintage French book text, rusty tin wire, torn wallpaper and numbers and text
stamp (I worked with PaperArtsy ESN stamps)
*If
making resin paper you might want to wear rubber gloves and place rubbish bags
on your work surface to protect the area. You will also require an old piece of household sponge.
Instructions
Resin Paper
Lay
vintage French book pages onto craft sheet. Follow manufacturer’s instructions to prepare the Ice Resin, working in
a well ventilated area. With a piece of
household sponge, apply the resin to the vintage book pages. The resin will need time to cure. Onto the
margin of the book page, stamp numbers and time. Tear two more pieces from the page.
Paperclay & Rust Pastes
Create
three paperclay elements working with paperclay. Leave to dry on flat surface.
Once
dry, working with all three pots from the Rust Pastes set, apply the pastes to
the paperclay elements. For the clock, I
worked with a lighter hand, ensuring I retained as much of the fine detail as
possible and dabbed Old Gold onto my fingertip and lightly applied to the
clock, catching small areas with the paint.
Lay the
elements aside for the moment.
Tag
Apply
Translucent paste through Dinky Stencils, working randomly. Leave to dry before misting panel with water
and scattering the various Frank Garcia powders. Continue to mist with water, apply more
powders and Toffee and French Roast. Apply, in small areas only, the Rust Pastes. Dab Old Gold onto fingertip and lightly apply
to stencilled areas, highlighting the relief pattern.
Assembling
Gather
the resin paper and paperclay elements along with chain, jump ring, rusty tin
wire and scrap of wallpaper.
Layer
the resin paper elements to the tag, wrap rusty wire around tag and layer the
wallpaper and stamped resin paper. Suspend clock from jump ring and chain, finally adhering the other
rusted paperclay elements.
