When
Springtime rolls around I always feel the need to ink up the beautiful photo
real stamp from Oxford Impressions Le Jardin stamp set. Here, it features as a focal on a Mixed Media
panel.
Supplies
That's Crafty! Dinky Stencils:- Quatrefoil 1, Dragonfly Flight
PaperArtsy Infusions:- Lemoncello, Violet Storms, Royal Blood, Blackcurrant, Black Knight
Extras:-
Flowers:- fabric and paper, yellow lace, black Stabilo watersoluble pencil
(substitute with watercolour pencil), re-cycled paper scrap
Instructions
Apply a
light wash of Gesso to panel. Follow
this by applying Grunge Paste to the Dinky Stencils. Leave to dry.
Apply
Infusions to panel, generously misting with water, allowing colours to drip and
pool. Heat set although if possible,
leave to dry.
Ink up
photo real stamp with Archival ink, using the brayer. Stamp onto glossy cardstock. Abrade edges before layering to panel with
torn pieces of lace and re-cycled paper scraps painted with Blackcurrant
Infusions.
I had a
piece of paperclay border lying on my work area, from when I made a batch of
them. I decided to break it into two,
painting with the Infusions (all listed excluding Lemoncello) and gold gilding
wax.
I also
had a fabric flower lying around (this is how I work, something will catch my
eye!). Violet Storms, Blackcurrant and
Royal Blood were applied to the flower. To create an embellishment, a
paperflower was layered to the centre and vintage yellow tulle (it was the
backing on some vintage lace) torn into strips and adhered to back of flower.
Finally,
a border created with the black watersoluble pencil.
