I
couldn’t resist going all out to create the appearance of a brick house, ever
so slightly timeworn with flaking masonry paint revealed but hopefully warmth
at its heart, with an invitation to open the doors and be welcomed by the
family.

Instructions
Apply
Gesso to all panels before applying paints. Stamp La Fenetre onto tissue paper, several times. Tear into panels and adhere with UHU. Leave to dry. For central panel, cut out three windows from one of the stamped panels
and layer over photobooth images before adhering to central panel of house.
Once dry, stencil TC001 with Grunge Paste, in a very random fashion to create
the sense of timeworn masonry. Once dry,
paint, including touches of Antarctic and Rust along with small dashes of Rust
Paste.
For
rear panel, stamp one window onto tissue paper, with black ink. Flip stencil TC064
upside down and place over stamped window, applying Grunge Paste. Continue to stencil bricks with TC001 and
Grunge Paste. Once dry, add paints. I tend to work with a dry brush method,
building up the colour, almost stippling onto the stencilled areas.
Finally,
adhere vintage Bingo counter and stamp Home
onto a scrap piece of cardstock, painted to co-ordinate. To the front doors of the house, adhere a
metal lock.
Lastly,
mist calico strips with water and sprinkle Frank Garcia powders. Once dry, bind the house with the stained
calico.
