A Daisy Smile by Fliss Goodwin

Hello!

I decided to share this particular piece of artwork this week as we just watched You've Got Mail for the umpteenth time and Meg Ryan was enthusing about how cheerful daisies are. I think she's right so here's my daisy.

Step by Step:

My chosen substrate is a chunkie as I love the way these stand up on their own to create a little piece of art.

I didn't assemble this immediately as I knew I wanted to stamp directly on the front and the surface has a bit of give once you've done this. I gave it a coat of white gesso first and then misted on Bluebell and Blackberry Flat Matte Sprays.

I next took the Flowers Galore stencil and applied a pattern around the edges with Green Multi Surface paint. I also added some green paint in the centre to stamp my daisy on. I did this using black ink.

Once everything was dry, I assembled my chunkie using my trusty That's Crafty! Multi Purpose Adhesive which I get through loads of as it's my go to glue.

I stamped the flower again on white cartridge paper with black ink and coloured just the flower head and leaf with Zig markers. I then cut these out and glued them on top of the stamped image on the chunkie.

I added the smile text stamped on a scrap of my ever growing pile of overflow papers and finished off with a coat of holographic gel on the flower head and leaf for some sparkle.
