Hi Everyone
Welcome to my Thursday weekly post.
This week I have been dabbling with a little paper crafting. Its something I don't often do so I
enjoyed changing things up a bit. I have used 13Art Papers along with some of my own embellishing touches to create a piece of 'postcard art' to share with you today.
The panel itself is a That's Crafty! White/Greyboard surface - postcard size (square corners). I think this is my new favourite size to work on so I'm sure I'll be sharing more postcard art in the coming weeks.
I worked with His and Hers Remastered papers by 13Arts. The papers are available from the shop along with a range of other 13Arts paper designs each of them gorgeous, good quality and very affordable.
As well as covering the postcard with paper I also cut and covered a few lengths of greyboard from offcuts I had left over from previous project. All sides of the covered pieces of greyboard and postcard are sanded and caught with paint. I built up the overall design placing a couple of the smaller 'pieces' in two of the opposing panel corners
and stacking two of the longer lengths on top of each other along the middle of the postcard.
I also painted a couple of pieces of thin dowel and tucked then into the small gaps between the postcard and the focal feature....
... which is made up of a That's Crafty! MDF heart treated with grit paste and acrylic paint.
and a smaller paper covered That's Crafty! White/Greyboard heart, both of which are mounted onto a kraft card heart shaped mount
To finish the design I embellished at various points with doubled up eyelets and mounted the postcard onto a piece of black cardstock cut to size.
The layered elements help give the finished postcard good dimension.

You never fail to impress Amanda, this project is beautiful! Those 13 Arts papers are gorgeous and I love the whole design of your project, the grit paste on the heart makes it look so wonderfully textural. Love this! x
ReplyDeleteCompletely scrumptious, Amanda... like you, I often forget how effective design papers can be, and you've certainly shown them off beautifully here. Your monochrome patchwork strips look just amazing.
