Hello
everyone hope you’re all well today wherever you are in the world. Today I’m
sharing a birthday card I made for my niece.
Here’s what I did
For my
first layer I used Infusions spritzed with a spray that includes mica. I love
the effects that are created and of course it is totally random effects that
are so exciting. On top of the Infusions layer I created several other layers
using different stamps and some stencils with Archival Ink in variety of colours.
I
stamped my feature and coloured her in, with water-soluble pencils. I do this
by laying in the first shadow coat, which I activated with a water brush. I
repeat this this with a mid tone and a highlight layer. I dry between layers
and then blend, I find I get a smoother blend then otherwise the colour keeps
moving. I finish using the pencil dry to add more shadow and interest. If there
are any gaps in the black ink I touch up with a black pen and then add white
pen on lips eyes etc. For this project I didn't need the white pen as there are
no real features to colour as it is too small. Around the feature, I used
water-soluble oil pastels to create the hazy effect. I did this by blocking in
the crayon and then blending and softening into the background.
Once
completely dry I gave it all a good coat of Crazing Matte Medium. I die cut my
sentiment and left it white to act as a contrast to the background.
Here’s what I used
Ranger Archival Ink – Various Colours
I apologise
for the lack of quality photos, I only took a few before the card was sent, and
didn't realise the quality was so poor.
I hope you get some crafty time
Take care as always
