Forever Roses by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, I have a mixed media panel to share this week as I’ve finally managed to ink up my Sheena Douglass Day of the Dead stamps and I have to say they’re such a pleasure to use as they stamp beautifully, even the very large main image – isn’t she an absolute beauty?

Ingredients:

Sheena Douglass Unmounted Stamp Sets – Forever Yours, Floral Fiesta
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylics – London Bus, Lavender, Lilac
Stencil – I actually used a piece of non-slip waffle plastic mat but a small pattern stencil would be a good substitute

Recipe:

Apply the red paint to the Gelli Plate in dots and spread the colour with the brayer. Press the white side of the panel on to the plate to pick up the colour.

Next add dots of the purple shades of acrylic paint to the plate, spread the colour and press the waffle mat or stencil on top to pick up the paint. Press this on to the panel to make a pattern.

Stamp the main image and 3 roses on mixed media paper with the plum ink – I think this makes a refreshing change from black. Colour the images with the coloured pencils, then cut them out.

Next stamp the rounded corner image on the panel in all 4 corners with the plum ink. Stamp the main image in the centre – if you do this you will still have the little bits of hair without having to cut them out.

Stick the main image over the top of the stamped image and then add the roses with foam tape to finish.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.
