Crackled Leaves ATC by Alison Hall

Hi Everyone! I have been playing with those fabulous That's Crafty! MDF surfaces. They're brilliant for your mixed media projects as they're so lovely and sturdy.

Here's what I used...

PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint - Space Cadet, Honey Dew
Carabelle Studio Stamp Sets - Layered Strips & Leafs by Birgit Koopsen
Ranger Archival Ink Pads - Forget-Me-Not, Fern Green, Jet Black

Here's what I did...

1. I first painted a layer of Space Cadet Fresco Finish Acrylic on my ATC, then once it was dry, I used a brayer to apply a thin even layer of Crackle Glaze. I dried this with a heat gun, wafting it over the ATC so that the glaze didn't bubble, then painted a generous layer of Honey Dew Fresco over the top. Once the cracks started to appear all over the ATC, I speeded up the drying with the heat gun.

2. I inked up the Layered Strips stamp with Forget-me-not Archival ink, then pressed my ATC onto it to stamp the background. I then used Fern Green ink to stamp the Leaf, and Jet Black to stamp the phrase. I also stamped some of the stars from the phrase on the bottom edge.

3. To finish my ATC, I used the Jet Black ink pad to ink the edges, then dried all the ink with my heat gun.

I hope I've inspired you to get inky and painty today.
