Tim Holtz meets Carabelle by Amanda Southern

Hi everyone,

And more new stamps have arrived at That’s Crafty!, this time the latest releases from
Tim Holtz which I just had to have. Here’s my first offering using one of Tim’s
Evolution stamps from the set of 2. I have teamed it up with one of the XXL
background stamps from Carabelle Studio.

Here’s what I did:-

The whole thing started with a gelli print background from my dwindling stash, I am going to have to get my Gelli Plate out soon to make some more. I then took the XXL stamp from Carabelle studio and stamped this over the gelli print background. To get a strong black stamped image I have used Dylusions black paint. I have found that the best way, for me anyway, to apply the Dylusions paint to the stamp is to first put a blob of the paint onto your craft mat or tear off palette sheet and spread it around with the brayer ensuring that you get an even coverage of paint on the brayer. Then brayer the paint evenly over the stamp, it can take a little practice to get the right level of paint applied and then stamp onto your background. If stamping with paint just make sure that you wash your stamp straight away and don’t let the paint dry on the stamp.

I then stamped the man from Tim’s Evolution set over the background. I wanted the text and his collar to stand out in white so stamped the man again onto white card and just cut him out and glued over the first stamped image.

I added some shadow around him filling in the centre of the clock this I have done with a black stablio pencil which blends and softens with water. I have added white highlights within the piece using a Dylusions white paint pen.

I love numbers on projects so couldn’t resist adding some numbers remnant rubs. I also added some washi tape to add more black and white squares.

Finally the sentiment has been die cut twice, once in white card and once in black card, I then layered them up slightly offsetting the black to give it a white shadow. Matted onto black card and then mounting onto a card blank.

What I Used:-
