My Heart by Lynne Moncrieff

I’m quite smitten with the That’s Crafty! hearts whether MDF, white/greyboard or stencils and there will be many over the coming weeks from me and also I’m sure from my team mates, I think we’d all say we are fans!

This week, a wee card featuring hearts in MDF and stencil form.

Supplies

Distress Stain Spray – Tattered Rose and Antique Linen
Grunge Paste
Seam binding (substitute with Idea-ology Crinkle Ribbon)
Extra- Deli paper, Resin embellishment (Melisssa Frances), baby wipe

Instructions

Apply to watercolour paper panel, Grunge Paste through Dinky Stencil.

Once dry, mist with Tattered Rose and Antique Linen, allowing to drip down panel. Wrap baby wipe around finger and dip into Romance. Apply to the panel, aiming for a distressed appearance. Lightly mist with water then leave to dry.

Apply the same media to MDF heart and when dry, stamp Messy Writing onto heart and randomly onto panel.

Partially ink sentiment and stamp onto a scrap piece of deli paper which has been painted with Romance. Onto another piece of the scrap paper stamp Messy Writing.

Assemble card by layering MDF heart with the stamped writing and scrap piece of stained seam binding (stained with fruit tea). Dab Romance onto resin embellishment and adhere to heart. Finally adhere stamped sentiment to cardbase.

Until next week,

Lynne x

  1. Really gorgeous - love how the deeper colour of the Romance works against the soft muted pink tones, and the hearts look fabulous.

  7. Beautiful, love your background, with Tattered Rose and Antique Linen, they looks wonderful together, and the message you send using all the hearts, so lovely. The stamp on the mdf heart with that keyhole, is another gorgeous detail, dear Lynne. I think next time I need that heart Dinky stencil.

  10. What a beautiful Valentine! I already have my mind twirling around heart creations and this piece is a fabulous, inspiring piece! Love those grunge paste hearts! Tattered Rose and Antique Linen are two of my favorite to spritz on art pieces. You always seem to put just the right touch of torn papers and sweet ribbons on your art work. Any kind of script catches my eye and I love to use it. Love it on this heart! The resin keyhole is a great finishing touch for your beautiful work. Thanks, Lynne! inkybru xx
