Hello
I wanted to return to the MDF Cabinet, the first time working with a nature theme and my Nature's Gatherings stamp sets but this time I opted to go in a different direction, feeling as though I was stepping backwards into my Shabby Chic/Vintage days with the style of this cabinet.
Although this cabinet is labelled as an ATC Cabinet, it has multiple uses. I plan to store vintage French thread along with vintage buttons but it could be a store for craft embellishments, crayons/pastels, a tidy storage for small handcarved stamps or outwith the art space for household keys.
Supplies
Archival Ink Pad Potting Soil
Extras: Black Watersoluble Pencil, Buttons
Instructions
After assembling the Cabinet, using That's Crafty! Multi-Purpose Craft Adhesive and then preparing the surface with white Gesso, once dry, it was a matter of adhering the Finnabair Tissue Paper to the cabinet and for a drawer, utilizing one of the faces from the tissue paper.
Once this was dry, returning to white Gesso, to push back some of the pattern of the tissue paper.
Onto the sides of the cabinet, stamping some of the Dried Botanicals stamps with a mix of Potting Soil and Watering Can ink, wanting a distressed appearance achieved by only lightly, almost partially, inking up the stamps.
Doing the same for the opposite side of the cabinet, selecting a different Dried Botanicals stamp.
Final touches, adding buttons and smudging with a Stabilo ALL pencil.
Thank you for taking the time to visit.
Wishes
Lynne
