Happy in my Pants by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone
For this week post I have returned to my little 3"x 5" grey/whiteboard art journal to add another 2 page spread.

I thought this little character was representative of my current days in lockdown lol.

Here's what I Did:

Working in my That's Crafty! 3" x 5" grey/whiteboard journal I began by choosing one of my recently released background papers, the one I chose was from set 3 which I glued to the pages and then trimmed and sanded the edges, I then punched out the ring holes.

The intention of my designs for the 3 different paper packs, available from That's Crafty! are to provide a quick background when time is perhaps against you or you just don't want to get all messy as they are all made using paint or sprays and also a combination of the 2. Whilst they can be used on their own the intention was that you would add your own elements to them to make them your own be that stencilling, stamping or anything else you care to through at them, the quality of the paper also makes them ideal for die cutting.

Onto my pages I smeared some white gesso to give me a lighter base and some texture, in places, to take some additional colour.

I then set to adding to my background paper.

I have added some Mustard Yellow Multi Surface Paint smeared across the white gesso. I have sprayed the Broken Circles stencil with Dina Wakley Gloss Spray and laid, spray side down, onto the project. I have stamped the bubble block and coloured in some of the circles with a white Posca pen, I've added painty lines in Light Blue using an old store card. I have stamped the scribbly text, stamped onto book pages and cut out, torn a strip from the same background page to ground my character to. The circles I have just punched from the same background paper, glued into place and scribbled around with a fine liner pen. I did  add a little white stencilling after I took this photo.

Next was to stamp out my character, which is one of the fabulous girls designed by Janet Klein for AALL & Create, all of these were coloured using coloured pencils, cut out and added to my page along with the sentiment which comes with the set I have used.

Here's What I Used:
That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints - Mustard & Light Blue
Versafine Clair - Noctourne
Stazon Pigment Ink Pad - Pink Cosmos
Posca Pen - White
Book Pages
Coloured Pencils
Small Circle Punch
Have a great week and I will see you all next Tuesday
Love
Amanda X
