Hi Everyone
Welcome to my Thursday weekly DT post .
Today I have an art panel to share which could also be used as what I call an 'Art Card' - a piece of art that you send to someone instead of a card.
The background was amongst the many stacks of backgrounds I have created over time and put to one side as 'possible, maybes'. This particular one was from my ' black and whites' and it was a stenciled mono print using black acrylic paint with a That's Crafty! stencil: Squares.
Basically, I spritz the surplus paint that was left on the stencil after I'd finished working with it, flipped the stencil over and pressed down onto card stock to create a print.
I cut the card to the required size and adhered it to a greyboard panel.
Next I add touches of colour using Dina Wakley heavy body acrylics ( Magenta, Ruby), applying them randomly with a palette knife.
I then added some detail text stamping using only the text from AALL and Create #292 stamp and a few paint splatters.
The focal feature of the panel is a Thats Crafty greyboard clock that I coloured using Seth Apters Aladine Izink dye ink spray: Liqourice.
Sprays are a great medium to use for adding colour to smaller elements. Cuts out trying to get the paintbrush into any fiddly corners.

Timeless is a 13arts chipboard 'craft adornment'. That too got a spritz of liquorice despite already being black.
To finish the design I added a couple of liquorice sprayed clock hands embellished with white brads to the top right....
and bottom left of the art panel/ art card.

Clever! I’m going to try the stencil to card stock idea because I love how you did this! Outstanding!
ReplyDeleteVery glad that background finally got a chance to shine - it deserves it. The added stamping just makes it fizz with all the more energy and I love the bold black clock face and detached hands in opposite corners - all a bit Alice in Wonderland, that clock, somehow!

Absolutely gorgeous Amanda. Love the bold background and your liquorice embellishments look so striking against it.
