Birds on a Wire by Helen Chilton

It's Katzelkraft stamps today - those birds full of character!

This 6x6 page started out like this - I was going to use it for my owl project a couple of weeks ago, but it just didn't work.

So, I just painted all over it and added a touch of yellow,

Then I stencilled with lots of That's Crafty! stencils,

using Distress Oxide sprays.

After that I sanded the surafce back a bit to the black paste underneath.

The birds are stamped onto Distress Oxide sprayed card.

I wanted to fit quite a lot of birds on so drew some telegraph wires as a perch.

Supplies:

Katzelkraft Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set - Les Piafs - KTZ151
That's Crafty! Clear Stamp Set - Alphabet
That's Crafty! Surfaces White/Greyboard Journal - 6ins x 6ins
That's Crafty! 7ins x 7ins Stencils
: Numbers TC6002, Squares TC6001, Large String TC6010, Lines TC6004
That's Crafty! 8ins x 8ins Stencils and Masks: Cogs and Gears TC8022

Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Sprays
VersaFine Clair Ink Pads: Nocturne
Posca Pens: White, Black
That's Crafty! Black Texture Paste

These birds make me smile every time I see them - Katzelkraft stamps have a lot of humour in them.
I like the way you just get the edges of the block stencilling coming through when you use sandpaper on it. Just goes to show what great coverage the Multi Surface paints have to be able to block out the black paste like that. Hope this has made you smile!

  1. This made me smile Helen. The birds are just so cute and quirky and look fab on your background (although a shame to cover up the original one as I just loved it!)
