May Flowers by Samantha Read

Hello, well I can't believe how fast May is passing me by and those April showers did indeed bring many blooms this month, which I'm really loving. So to celebrate nature and her lovely colours I made this tag..

What I did

I started by applying some texture paste through a stencil on to a long tag followed by a coat of white gesso when dry, when the gesso was dry I applied a coat of crackle glaze and again that was dry I painted using teal and metallic patina paints. I then heat embossed some white flowers for the background and stamped the girl, flowers and text on to white card and coloured using watercolour paints and pencils. Finishing touches include glossy accents on the raindrops, brolly and boots, highlights with a white Posca paint pen and some shading using a grey gelato.

What I used

That's Crafty! Greyboard Long Tags
That's Crafty! Texture Paste
That's Crafty! Dinky Stencil TC043 - Raindrops Background
That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints - Teal and Metallic Patina
Rubber Moon - Girl in Galoshes Stamp
AALL and Create Stamp Set - Freestyle Flowers
Ranger Glossy Accents
Faber-Castell Gelato - Earl Grey

(From my stash - alphabet stamp set, white embossing powder and ribbon. Watercolours and pencils).

I do hope you like it, thanks for looking and see you next Wednesday!
Wishing you a lovely day, Sam xx
