Funghi and Fairy Wings by Samantha Read

Hello, this week I'd like to share another MDF plaque and just for a change I chose some darker colours with a lovely shine.

What I did

I gave the MDF panel a couple of coats of white gesso and then randomly applied multi surface paints. I used some Walnut Ink Crystals, for the first time, and splattered them on and stood the panel up so the splats ran. I stamped the mushrooms directly on the panel and again on white card, I did this because some of the smaller mushrooms are too small to cut out. I also stamped the fairy on white card and coloured her and the mushrooms using a combination of watercolours and pencils. I then stamped the background foliage and adhered every thing in place, including the brilliant wings for the fairy - I cut off her original wings - ouch! To finish I added some silver highlights, coloured ink splats, glossy accents, a little text and ribbon for hanging.

What I used

That's Crafty! Multi surface paints - I used ocean and teal
That's Crafty! Pearl Inks - I used red, white and blue
Ranger Archival Ink Pads - I used Jet Black and Watering Can

(From my stash; Rubber Dance stamp set - Weed Love, Prismacolour pencils, Prima watercolours and ribbon).

I do hope you like it, see you next Wednesday!
Sam xx
