Bring on the Girls by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone
I hope you have all had a lovely Easter and have been enjoying all the lovely weather we are having in the UK (at the moment).
For this weeks post, and I did warn you last week, my ATB (artist trading block) addiction continues and this week I have used the larger of the 2 sizes available the 4" block. Where as last weeks ATB make went grungy this week is all about colour, colour, colour!!

Here's What I Did:
I started by first assembling the 4" ATB MDF block gluing it together with That's Crafty multi purpose adhesive which bonds the pieces really quickly. I then cut up a piece of 13arts 12" paper, the type font piece from the His & Hers 12" set, into 5 pieces just slightly bigger than 4" square. I glued a piece onto the block and then trimmed it to fit when it was on the block before moving onto adding the next piece. This I repeated until the entire block was covered. I then edged each side with it's own colour of paint, I used Dina Wakley paints and applied the paint roughly using my finger. I then set the block aside to work on each of the panels. I created the background piece by adding the turquoise paint with a brayer and cutting the pieces into 3.5" squares. Then to each of them I added the additional colour in the same way giving each piece it's own colour theme. I also randomly painted onto another piece of card the colours I was going to be using using Dina Wakley paints as this sheet allowed me to stamp some of the elements onto and cut them out to add to the panels.
Next was to stamp the girl stamps, designed for That's Crafty by Blue Wood Designs, onto mixed media card and colour them, as I wanted the colours to be bright and bold I chose to colour them with Zig Clean Colours brush pens. When coloured these were also cut out. I also wanted to add some additional interest so used some pieces of organza fabric and threads from my stash. All that was then left to do was to create the panels using all the elements that I had made.

to add some words I used some of the Stickers from Marlene's sticker book and edged them using colour matching Posca paint pens.

Here's What I Used:
That's Crafty MDF ATB - Pack of 6 (3x3" & 3x4")
13 Arts 12" designer Papers - His & Hers Remastered
Strathmore Mixed Media Card or you could used watercolour card
Dina Wakley Acrylic Paints - Turquoise, Lemon, Tangerine, Magenta, Lime, Ruby (or similar)
                                                                                        - Alexa's Faces set 1 & 2
Versafine Ink Pad - Onyx Black
Organza scraps and threads from my stash

Have a fabulous week and I will see you all next Tuesday
Love
Amanda X
