First Day of Spring by Samantha Read

Hello, today is the first day of Spring here in the UK and to celebrate I've made a Spring Equinox decorative hanging.

What I did

The base for this project is one of the fabulous 8in diameter MDF rounds, I gave it a couple of coats of white gesso followed by a couple of coats of Ivory paint. Working from the centre I stamped the flowers and did some hand doodling to fill some gaps and coloured with watercolours. Some black splats finished the piece along with painting the edge black, some twine for hanging and the centre of stamp for a central focal point.

What I used

From my stash: Prima Watercolours - Tropicals, twine.

I do hope you like it, thanks for looking.
 See you next Wednesday,Sam xx

  3. I don't think that Spring has ever made a more elegant appearance! The bright colors are energizing. You seem to always come up with and never run out of original ideas! Well done, my friend!
