Where Flowers Bloom by Fliss Goodwin

Happy New Year everyone!

I have a simple journal page to share as my first project this year as I've not had much free time with all the family stuff going on over the festive times.
This only took around half an hour to make as the floral elements were stamped on leftovers in my bits box, very handy when you need something quick.

Step By Step:

My under used Distress inks came into play for my background as I lightly pressed on Crushed Olive and Shabby Shutters, spreading the colour with some small make-up sponges, using a page in my small A6 size journal.

I then took one of the quirky round floral stamps from Tracy Evan's fab new stamp set for Aall & Create, stamping a couple of times before re-inking, using Crushed Olive Distress ink and applying randomly over my page.

I stamped the largest flower from the stamp set on the page with black ink and stamped parts of it again on scraps of ink sprayed paper from my bits box, choosing a bright orange for contrast. I cut the floral elements out and glued these over the stamped image on my page.

I stamped the floral text over the base of the flower and added some swipes of black ink picked up with the edges of an acrylic block to finish off - this was actually a bit of serendipity as a stray black ink mark that I wanted to draw attention away from disappeared with all the intentional marks!

Supplies:

Aall & Create Stamp Set  #154 - Sketched and Doodles Moments by Tracy Evans
Distress Inks - Crushed Olive, Shabby Shutters
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
Scraps of Ink Spray Papers (mine used That's Crafty! Flat Matte Sprays)

That has to be the shortest supplies list I've ever done!

Have a great and hopefully crafty weekend and see you next week.

Fliss x

  5. A wonderful journo page, Fliss. Love how you have angled the stem of the flower - a simple touch that is so effective to the overall design.
