The Quiet Moments by Lynne Moncrieff

Hello

This week I am sharing a panel, unsurprisingly, towards a nature theme.

Selecting a That's Crafty! Surfaces MDF panel, I am reassured each time that I can pile layer upon layer of media.

Instructions

I worked with scraps of this and that which I had previously stained during preparation for other projects.

Prepare MDF panel with a random application of Gesso, this provides an interesting effect once the sprays are applied.

Begin applying sprays to the panel, allowing to drip downwards, allow to air dry. At the same time as spraying the panel, stain various papers, calico, tag and Khadi paper with the various sprays.

Stencil the stunning fern onto the prepared, larger paper panel, with Texture Sand Paste which creates the most amazing results. Once the paste dried, another spritz of Ochre and Sage followed with Lustres Aubergine and Gold.

Once this panel was dry, allowing with all the other sprayed pieces, it was time to layer them up.  When those pieces are in place, it is time for more of the Texture Sand paste, applied with palette knife and fingertips

and again, when dry, time for the sprays again. With the Lustre Gold, I like to use the end of the spray tube (or you could use a paintbrush), to drop small areas which will provide intense pools of Gold.

The final touches, to add the stamped elements.  From "Embrace the quiet moments", selecting only "the quiet moments", stamping onto scrap of tea bag paper stained with walnut ink crystals with one of the Texture stamps, stamped onto a very tattered piece of stained found paper. Last, two pieces of beautiful, deep green velvet (gifted from Dorthe), bring another layer of texture to what is already a heavy textured panel

Aside from the MDF panel, the stars of this project are Texture Sand Paste and the Flat Matte and Lustre Sprays, allowing me to bring texture and colour to this project yet remain sympathetic to the naturalistic style I as aiming for.

Just to note, MDF panels are available in variety of sizes and styles, HERE
Thank you for your visit.
