Hi Everyone
Welcome to my weekly post as a Guest designer here at That's Crafty!
This week I have been having fun with colour again and I have to say I'm enjoying experimenting with the 'brights'!!
I primed a piece of card with gesso and then added colour using acrylic paints applying it with both brush and fingers. Of course I found room to add in some black and white too. I then added lots of stenciling and stamping, some white highlightling, scribble doodling and some mark making.
Here's a small section of the full piece
and another
The scattered stars are embossed with black embossing powder. The open stars are created using Seth Apters 'Robo Star' die
whilst the smaller solid stars
and the circled stars are created using Seth Apters 'Starstruck' die
The main focal image is another of Seth Apters dies - 'Outlaw', die cut several times from cardstock and adhered together to give it depth and dimension.
It is triple embossed with black embossing powder and topped with a wax heart that I created by melting wax crayons into a heart shape silicon mould originally bought to make chocolate treats. Much healthier to use it for making arty embellishments!!

Amanda, it is wonderful to see you embracing brighter colours, this piece is fantastic, I love how the bold black elements just 'pop'! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeously bright and colourful Amanda and love the contrast of black against the colours too. Great to hear you used your fingers too as I also find those a very useful tool :D

The neon colours are fabulous - especially with the drama of the black and white lettering and graphic elements. The triple embossed star is just amazing.
