Winter is Coming by Samantha Read

Hello! It's Wednesday and I hope the sun is shining where ever you may be unlike on the tag for the new That's Crafty! challenge that starts today. The challenge theme is 'Forever Autumn', I LOVE Game of Thrones so immediately the phrase 'Winter is coming' came to mind. I love September, it's not too hot and not too cold and there is a lot less pollen to deal with!

What I did

I started with a greyboard tag, the dinky bricks stencil and texture sand paste to create the wall/balcony at the bottom, I also added a snowflake using texture paste and another dinky stencil but sadly it doesn't show well in the photo. I then used multi surface paints, watercolour paints and sprays to create the background. The Queen was stamped on white card and coloured using Prismacolour pencils, and the snowflakes are elements of the same stamp. To finish I added settled snow on the wall using texture paste again, glossy accents on the eyes and crown jewels and some glitter glue for some sparkle. The text was made using a set of alphabet stamps in my stash and the wire and beads were also from my stash, it's about time I started using these things lol.
