Their Story by Lynne Moncrieff

PaperArty Everything Art EEA06, immediately caught my eye, especially the face stamp.  Somehow, you cannot help but connect with those faces, as though they are urging you to share their story.

In many ways, this is a work in progress although I didn’t set out with that intention. I only realised, on completion that I wanted to explore this project further. I started this when the EEA06 stamps were released and has since been laid aside until I see what direction it urges me in, it could be a work in progress for the foreseeable! I plan on re-connecting with Willa Cather’s work to help me unfold the next chapter of those women’s lives.

Supplies

PaperArtsy Stamp Sets - EEA04 and EEA06
Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic: Buff, Chalk, Chocolate Pudding
Gel Medium (or That’s Crafty! Multi Purpose Adhesive)
Shallow Bezel Frame*
Extras: Natural Tissue Paper, Teabag Paper, Book Pages, Vintage Doily, Vintage Buttons, Black Cotton Sewing Thread, Scraps of Vintage Fabrics/Ribbons, ICED Enamels Ivory and Iced Enamels Medium (Many of the Extras on my projects are found papers/items from around the home or leftover from other projects. The bezel* was unwanted from a separate project, where I had been playing with ICED Enamels Ivory. If you want to prepare such a bezel, apply ICED Medium to bezel before covering with ICED Enamels and melting with heat tool).

Instructions

Apply Grunge Paste to house frame before applying Frescos. Just before this dries, stamp directly into the nearly dry paints, randomly stamping the numbers from EEA06 and text stamp from EEA04.

To rear of frame, adhere vintage doily. Onto natural tissue paper/teabag paper, stamp Affirmations, adhering to the doily. Also stamp numbers and text, adhering torn pieces, here and there. Embellish the frame with vintage buttons, threading with black cotton sewing thread, layering the buttons onto a torn piece of vintage crochet lace.

Onto plain margin of vintage book page, stamp faces. Ideally, bundle a few book pages together, tearing into a long strip with stamped faces as top layer. Attach at top of bundle with Tiny Attacher before adhering to right side of frame along with scraps of vintage fabrics/ribbon, etc. Stamp circle from EEA06, adhering to centre of bezel, adhering to top of frame.

Prop house frame upright, allowing light to shine through the vintage doily.

Until next time,

Wishes
Lynne
