Hi
everyone,
Donna
here today and I’m still enjoying doing my hand carving so I thought I’d carve
a little hedgehog to go with my toadstool that I showed you all last weekend.
What to do:
Take
a sheet of Strathmore Mixed Media Paper and swoosh through a little puddle of
various spritzed Distress Oxides on your craft mat. Keep going until you like
the effect you’ve achieved, dry thoroughly.
Then
take a Tim Holtz circles stencil and pounce through a brown Distress Oxide,
dilute the same colour with a water brush and add it to the bottom of the card
for an earthy ground effect.
A
little doodling with a brown Distress Marker and a black fine liner pen and
then you’re ready to stamp your newly carved stamps! Stamp these with black
Archival ink once again on Strathmore paper and use diluted Distress Markers to
colour them in. Fussy cut them out and adhere to the front of the background.
For
the finishing touches add a couple of Clippings sentiments and some twine,
mount onto white cardstock.
Oh
I nearly forgot to show you the little hedgehog.
I
really hope I’ve inspired you all to start stamp carving, it really is not
difficult and it’s so satisfying too……try it, you may like it!
Supplies Used:
Hope
you like it

Dear Donna, you really make me want to try carving, but it looks much more difficult , than what you tell :-)
ReplyDeleteYour hedgehog is the most wonderful little fellow, and as I wrote before, you made his spikes look amazingly reel- a fantastic creation. I wonder if you draw your motives first ? so beautiful autumn-like scene, with him slowly wandering under the wonderful toadstools shadows. Hugs, xxx
Your hedgehog is brilliantly carved, but no more than I would expect from you. Great card made even greater 'cos you carved them all yourself.
