Hi
there, I have a little inspiration for the current challenge at That’s Crafty!
Challenge Blog today as my project for this week is a card. I was lucky enough
to get my inky mitts on one of our Donna’s new Christmas stamp sets and this is
one of several cards I’ve made with it.
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – Christmas Collection Set 2, Textures Collection Set
1
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads – Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, Broken China, Picked
Raspberry
White
Square Card Blank
Recipe:
First
make the background paper. I added patches of the blue, pink and green Oxides
to my craft mat, misted them gently with water and then pressed in a square of
mixed media paper to pick up the colour. I carried on with this until I was
happy with the effect.
I
next masked off the top of the tree so that the ink just went on the star and
then inked, removed the masking tape and stamped on the coloured paper,
repeating the process several times randomly round the edges and heat embossed
the stars with the gold embossing powder.
I
then used the bubble texture stamp without a mount, inking with the embossing
ink and stamping randomly in the remaining areas. I again heat embossed the
bubble with gold powder. I then used a damp brush to pick up some of the
leftover oxide colour on my craft mat and added colour to the stars and bubbles
to make them stand out more.
I
coloured a scrap of mixed media paper with the green Oxide ink, aiming for a
stronger colour for contrast. I stamped on the tree design with the embossing
ink and heat embossed with gold before cutting out the image. I also stamped
the Christmas sentiment on a scrap, gold embossed it and coloured with the pink Oxide after cutting out the words.
I
assembled my card as you see using a mix of foam tape and glue to add dimension
in some places to the finished creation. The final touch was a blue gem added
to the star on the tree.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
