Give Me Wings by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

Donna here today with a cute cat stamp from Carabelle….oh yes, cat stamps are the best!!

What to do:

To create the background, take a sheet of Strathmore mixed media paper and spritz liberally with water. Add a mixture of watercolours to the surface of the paper with a wet brush then apply a layer of cling film to it, scrunch it up a little bit. Put to one side and leave for a few hours to dry to achieve the ‘wrinkled’ effect.

Stamp the butterflies on a scrap of Gelli print paper and fussy cut out. The cat is stamped onto a piece of the Strathmore paper and coloured in with diluted Distress Markers then fussy cut out too.

I suggest stamping the images directly onto the background as well before you adhere your fussy cut pieces as that way you’ll be able to capture all the fiddly bits that are far too awkward to cut out!

The finishing touch is to use a That’s Crafty! stencil with the word imagine, pounce through a Distress Ink in a pink/red shade so it offers more of a contrast.

Mount onto black card and then white cardstock and there you have a cute little cat imagining he can fly J

Wonderful background with the cling film idea, it works brilliant , and your cute cat and lovely painted butterflies , but I can read I misunderstood, your winged cat, imagining him to be an angel, Donna ,lol- (I do have something with angels, I guess ) ---now I can see he only wants to fly :-) :-) Xxx, Dorthe
