Don’t Doubt The Strength by Lynne Moncrieff

I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I was to discover That’s Crafty! were launching greyboard feathers. They have cleverly packaged the Surfaces Bits and Pieces that you can purchase individual sheets or you can buy as sets.

Some of the large feathers can accommodate the Affirmations stamps, which is what I did with this project.

Supplies

PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics: Antarctic, Chalk, Toffee
Infusions:  Rusty Car, Rocky Road
Firm Bristled Paintbrush
Extras: Driftwood (Thanks Dorthe!), silk sari ribbon, coconut shell button, rusty tin wire

Instructions

Apply Gesso to both sides of large feather followed by chalk acrylics. Stamp Affirmation directly onto feather, stamping onto both sides. Take a stiff bristled brush, stipple the Antique Gold acrylic paint onto the feather, focusing around the edges.

Stain silk sari ribbon with Infusions. Once dry, wrap around end of feather. The easiest way is, applying small amount of Gel Medium to end before wrapping the sari ribbon, ensure there is enough tail length of ribbon to suspend from driftwood.  Next, bind with rusty tin wire.

Wrap the tail ends of the sari ribbon around the driftwood, again binding with more rusty tin wire, forming a hanging handle with the wire. Leave silk ribbon to trail from the driftwood.

Finally, embellish with a coconut shell button.

Until next time,

Wishes

Lynne
