We welcome an old friend (not old as in age!) back to the blog today. Mandy was on our DT a couple of years ago and we are delighted that she is our October guest designer.
Items used:
Cut and Dry Foam
3d Foam
Prep
your journal page surface with gesso, give it a blast with the heat tool. Gesso
generally dries pretty quickly.
Using
the black Archival ink stamp the text stamp towards the upper right side of the
page and some on the lower left and the circles to the mid left and also on the
bottom right.
Also,
stamp the circles onto some spare white card, also using the black Archival ink. Use
your acrylic paint and paint over the page, making sure you leave the circles
white. I have mixed the acrylics on the page whilst painting until I’m happy
with the result.
Add
some texture paste around the page, mine is on the top right and bottom left,
paint over with the turquoise acrylic. * this step could be done before
painting the page in the first place. *
Colour
your circles. I used watercolour pencils, but any colouring you like is ok.
Colour the circles on the card as well.
I then
used a black fineliner to add some stripes around the circles.
I
decided which circles I wanted to have 3d, cut them out and used 3d foam pads
to add dimension. I didn’t 3d all of the circles, just 4 of them.
I added
shadow around the circles using a dark blue watercolour pencil.
Using a
piece of Cut and Dry and the Vintage Photo Distress Ink, I edged the page, as well as over some of the texture
paste dots.
Choose
a set of words from the sticker book of ‘small talk’ and adhere.
