Distressed Crackle Frame by Moira Sutton

Wooden Frame
Prima Mini Flora 6 x 6 Stencil
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays – Hottie Patootie Pink,  Bling y Blonde and TiffanyLou Blue
Gilding Waxes – Decadent Denim and Vintage Sage
Embellishments and collage from stash

The crackle finish on this frame was born out of an accident while working on something else. I was trying to imitate Andy Skinner's mega crackle but created instead mega distressed crackle and I like it so did it again on purpose to check it worked and I like the result.

Gesso the wooden frame and apply the Gold paint and allow to dry thoroughly. Add a coat of the DecoArt Crackle Glaze, allow it to dry thoroughly. Apply a coat of the Weathered Wood Crackling Medium and allow to dry. Apply a second coat of Weathered Wood and immediately while wet apply a coat of black paint using your brush in a downward motion only and leave to dry.

To complete my frame I applied Modelling Paste through the Prima onto paper and when dry sprayed with the Lindys to create the background for my collage lady. The rest are embellishments from my stash treated with gilding waxes and a spot or two of Golden Rod Stickles.
