Rusty ATC’s by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone

I’d like to share with you today a couple of the ATC’s that I made to support the Launch of That’s Crafty! on Hochanda TV.

Here’s What I Did:-

Both ATC’s are made on That’s Crafty! own brand MDF ATC’s. Both had a thin coat of gesso applied first and then I stencilled texture paste through 2 different Dinky Stencils. Once that was dry I then painted them both using Prima Art Extravagance Rust Paste Set and I add PaperArtsy Bora Bora paint to add a little verdigris effect to the rust. With the rust paint set you get 3 different colours Gold Rust, Red Rust & Brown Rust and depending how you add the separate colours determines the effect you get. You will see that both of the ATC’s are slightly different as the second one has much more of the brown rust which also has much more texture in it.

Once all that lovely rust paint was dry I decorated each one. The heart I have added is the smallest heart available from That’s Crafty! heart substrate range. I had stamped the image onto a Distress coloured piece of card and then coloured the lips and glued onto the heart and trimmed it off. The sentiment I have added has been cut from the same stamp and edged with Distress ink.

The second ATC I stamped the butterfly onto a bit of scrap card from my scrap box and then cut out. The crime tape was masking tape that I stuck to a glass cutting mat and then painted it with black paint. I then stamped the wording in using paint to stamp with. I then trimmed down the masking tape with a very sharp craft knife. The word is a remnant rub added to a bit of Distress coloured card.

Here’s What I Used:-

That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils – Reverse Honeycomb and Metal Grid
Crime Scene Stamp – from VLVS
Distress Inks – Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap
Dylusions Paint – Black Marble & Lemon Zest

Have a fabulous week and I’ll see you next Tuesday

Love
