Morning
everyone Debs here today, sharing a small clay ornament inspired by my own cat Kashmir,
which I made to add to my collection of cats.
What I
did
Roll out
a piece of clay approx 4inch in diameter and with a pokey tool shape the edge.
Lay your clay onto a baking tray and press a detailed stencil into the clay, I
used the brick stencil from the Dinky range. Bake in the oven following guide
lines for your clay. I used paper clay which can air dry, but I wanted to speed
things up so used an oven.
Once
the clay cools give a coat of acrylic paint and the seal with a gloss spray
sealant.
For the
cat, roll a piece of clay approx ¼ ins thick, shape the arch for the back and
score lines for the legs. Roll two small balls and push onto cats legs – this
forms the paws. Roll 1 very small length of clay to form the tail. With another
piece of clay form the head. Place onto baking sheet assemble the cat and bake
as before.
Once
cool, paint with Paynes Grey dark, dry brush the White gently to lighten giving
a look of fur. Add gems for the eyes.
Stick
the cat to the back plate and tie a ribbon so that it can be hung up.
What I Used

Spray Sealer in Gloss
It was great
fun playing with the clay, hope you like what I created. Take care as always
