Have I ever mentioned how much I love That’s Crafty’s
Alterable Surfaces?!!
Here I used one of the MDF hearts on a white/greyboard
tag.
Supplies
That’s Crafty! Surfaces MDF Heart and
White/Greyboard Tag
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics:- Sherbert,
Brown Shed, Blush, Nougat, Antarctic, Blue Smurf, Lake Wanaka, Chalk, Lilac,
Dolly Mix and Prawn from Limited Edition JOFY Set 3 and Fresco Pearl Glaze
Crackle Paste (I used Golden but That’s Crafty! stocks
alternatives)
Old Rolling Pin or Clay Tools
Extras:- Fabric and Deli Paper
Instructions
Due to the drying time, I always prepare any paperclay elements
first.
Roll paperclay to required thickness. Stamp the wings into the paperclay, no need
to ink up the stamp. Leave to dry on a
flat surface.
Apply Grunge Paste and the various paints onto the tag,
misting with water to allow the paints to drip and blend. Follow by randomly stamping Messy Writing.
Onto the MDF heart apply Gesso followed with a
generous application of Crackle Paste.
Once dry, paint with a mixture of Sherbert, Blush and Chalk. Also paint the paperclay wings. After painting the wings, I added a dab of
Pearl Glaze to the wings.
Apply various paints onto deli paper followed by
stamping various Finnabair circles and Messy Writing. Paint a scrap of watercolour, followed by
stamping Finnabair sentiment then cutting into word tiles and inking edges.
Finally, assemble the tag with the stamped elements,
heart and wings also adhering fabric to the top and bottom edges of the tag,
pleating the fabric at the bottom.
Until next time,

What a beautiful, soft appearance. I really like the crackle paste. The effect looks like a heart growing larger to spread its wings. The sweet, soft circles really add a delicate touch to whole piece. I must try some of the MDF surfaces to work on. Also, I have never worked on deli paper and just have to try that, too. You see, Lynne, you always inspire me to spread my wings and try something new! Cheers! inkybru xx
