Hi
there, this week I’m sharing a journal style art panel which has a background
made with what I think will be my new obsession, my 4 inch round Gelli plate as
it makes a very quick layered background. The only thing you have to be careful
of is to ensure you use colours that combine well when you layer them as you
don’t want to end up with mud!
Ingredients:
That’s
Crafty! Surfaces – White/Greyboard, 4.5 inches x 9 inches
Archival Watering Can Ink
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints – Haystack, Blush, Rose, Sage, Caramel
Large
Post-It Note
Recipe:
Stamp
the main image on the right hand side of the panel just above half way with the
grey ink. Stamp the image again on the post-it note and cut it out. Stick the
mask over the top.
Add
the yellow paint to the Gelli plate and spread it with the brayer then press
onto the art panel, repeat once more then repeat again with the lighter pink
and blue paints until the panel is covered. Remove the mask.
Use
the hearts stencil with the deeper pink paint to apply a pattern at the bottom
right and top left of the panel.
Stamp
the dot texture image from the Dina Wakley set onto the other corners with the
grey ink following up with the barbed wire image.
Use
the pink grapefruit ink to stamp a further dot pattern in the remaining space
the stamp 2 butterflies from the Finnabair set over the top.
Paint
the main image and the butterflies with the acrylic paints and scribble some
circles over the hair with the pencils for added texture.
We
have a new challenge for you today over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog, the
first of the year so don’t forget to check it out at 8am.
See
you next week!
