Abstract Journalling by Helen Chilton

This post led directly on from last week in that I wanted to use the trees again.
I had this stencilled off pattern on one of my journal pages and stamped some trees over the top in Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink pads.

Then I added some in black.

It was at this point that I decided it looked like a building in the background so I outlined some of the windows and walls in a black watercolour crayon/pencil.

It reminded me of where I used to live as a child, so I thought I'd make some more flats/tall buildings using the Distress Oxides again and some Dinky stencils: Grid background and Dinky Lines. I coordinated the colours with the background and introduced a blue.

Then I added some cobbles to ground the buildings: tc046 and tc044

And there you are, all done.

I've really enjoyed this - all fairly loose and going with the flow.

Hope you've enjoyed this too!

Helen
