My next few blog posts are going to use gilding flakes to add a bit pizzazz! For this first post I'm going to use a stencil.
I've covered a panel with some 13Arts paper - fantastic crackle pattern - and added a touch of colour.
Then I got out the Daily Arts Gilding Glue and a Dinky stencil. I used a sponge to apply the glue. I would suggest sticking the stencil down with repositionable spray adhesive so the glue doesn't seep under too much.
NOTE: the Daily Art gilding flakes are not on the website yet but you could easily use the Pentart Galaxy Flakes instead.
Then just layer on the flakes - don't sneeze or they'll go everywhere!
Rub off the excess with a soft brush.
I stamped my dragonfly onto card coloured with dye ink pads.
I also stamped out some leaves and text.
Then just decorate your dragonfly to finish off.
I was pleased with how the stencilling turned out - it wasn't perfect but that's probably because the glue is quite liquid. It helps to choose a stencil with a regular pattern.
Until next time!
Helen
