Friends With Silence A Journal Page by Lynne Moncrieff

 Hello

Another journal page to be sharing, with one of the Nature's Gatherings birds as the focal, resting upon a pocket where a tag can be tucked inside, possibly a tag for journaling some thoughts.

Supplies

Extras: black sewing thread, needle, muslin

Instructions

This page came to a halt sometime ago and I just could not move forward with it.

The page was prepared with Walnut Ink (decanted into mister bottle - diluted to a preferred strength of colour) and sprayed directly onto the page.  To this I did some free flow journaling with a Stabilo watersoluble pencil. Ultimately this journaling will barely be visible but it can provide a sort of mark making on the completed page. To this, scrappy pieces of paper were accumulated with some stained with walnut ink including staining muslin scrap and fragment of tea bag  paper and stamping one of the Scribbled Words stamps.

My thinking at the time was to use an element from Beauty Restless Junk Journal Extras, a pocket to which a tag would be inserted.  It was at this point that I could not move forwards with this page so it was left untouched for many, many weeks until recently picking up the journal and nudging myself to finally move forwards with this page.

The page needed lightening and also texture - Texture Paste would provide both, with touches of the beautiful Interference Gold Paint.

I was unsure if to leave the pocket unadorned and focus on the tag (this tag was subsequently replaced) but after some mulling over I decided to take the focal in another direction.  The pocket remained but was covered with a stamped bird from the Nature's Gatherings stamp set.

The bird was stamped onto a tag from Studio Light Tag Block. This tag was distressed (scrunched in my hands) with Walnut Ink Crystals added to stain.

He would be layered onto the pocket with a scrap of fabric tucked beneath which had Bronze Pearl Ink added in dots.

A scrap of tea bag paper, stained with walnut ink and with three primitive cross-stitches, decorates the top of the pocket.

Another Studio Light tag distressed with Walnut Ink and once dry, stamping an Affirmation.

Layered to another piece of walnut ink stained Tea Bag paper, lightly dry brushed with Interference Gold paint.

Interference Gold paint, dry brushed on other areas of this journal page. This paint is so beautiful for bringing a "lift" to areas.

A detailed of the gathering in the top left corner.  I just want to point out that the white paper I stamped one of the Scribbled Words stamps had a slightly waxy texture so the stamping is far from perfect but I liked the grungy appearance.

Thank you for your visit.

Wishes

Lynne
