There is Beauty in Simplicity by Amanda Pink

 Hi Everyone

For todays make I have continued creating with some of Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamps and Ranger Distress inks and have a mixed media card to share. In contrast to the last couple of projects I've shared using Tim's products that had a real distressed look with layers and texture my card today has a much more contemporary stylised vibe to it.

Hopefully it will go some way to show the versatility of Tim's stamp designs and distress products as they lend themselves to  many a creative style

The background.

On a panel of That's Crafty! ultra smooth white card (cut to size) I sprayed some of Tim Holtz Distress spray stain's: Mermaid Lagoon, Salvaged Patina, Rustic Wilderness.  As I wanted a central concentration of colour with some white open space around that's where I focused the spraying.

When dry I ink stamped and embossed one of the stamps from Tim's Stampers Anonymous 'Faded Type' stamp set in the centre of the panel. Tim's Black Soot Distress Archival ink with clear embossing powder were used for this.

I caught the edges of the panel with black paint, lightly splattered some of the paint around and then  matt n layered it a couple of times before adhering to a handmade card.

The focal feature

I  chose one of the many moths and butterflies from Tim's Stampers Anonymous 'Moth Study' stamp set, stamped and embossed it using Black Soot Distress Archival ink with clear emboss powder and  watercoloured it with Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina Distress inks.

After adding a few white pen highlights/marks and some wire antennae the butterfly was adhere to its resting platform - a That's Crafty! Craftyboard circle that I painted black, crackled with some of Tim's Distress Crackle Paste and adhered to a die cut circle painted black.

To finish the card off I added what I thought a suitable quote taken from Tim's Stampers Anonymous 'Tiny Text' stamp set. It was stamped with embossing ink on black card and embossed with white emboss powder.

There is beauty..
