Forgotten Butterflies by Amanda Southern

 Hi Everyone

For this weeks post I am sharing with you a forgotten piece. I was looking through my photo's and came across this make that I realised I hadn't shared on the blog and as it uses some of the fabulous butterfly stamps designed by Melina Dahl which I really enjoyed colouring and wanted to share with you.

Here's What I Did:

The whole piece is created onto Surfaces that are included in the That's Crafty! MDF Faux Embroidery Hoop kit which I have stencilled onto using That's Crafty! Texture Paste through one of Melina's Masks, Flower Burst. Once the Texture Paste was dry I painted over the whole lot with Teal Multi Surface Paint and left that to totally dry. Once the paint was dry I then sanded back revealing the white Texture Paste in places and giving a distressed finish.

Next was to paint the large Craftyboard flowers white, the paint was again That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paint. I then stamped the floral butterflies using both the large and smaller version of the same design from the Zen Butterflies stamp set onto mixed media card and coloured using Zig Kuretake colour clean pens, obviously you can colour with what ever you prefer. Once coloured all were cut out and added to the piece along with the white painted flowers. Both pieces were tied together using some embroidery thread in a matching colour.

Here's What I Used:
Mixed Media Card, Carabelle Studio do some HERE
Sanding Block

I'll see you all next Tuesday
Love

  2. Wow! Fabulous... so happy you found it. The soft blues provide a lovely background for the bright butterflies.
