The Power of Sight by Amanda Pink

 Hi Everyone

Welcome to  my weekly DT post.

Today I am sharing a card I've created using Tim Holtz Distress inks and Oxides. It features one of Carabelle Studio stamps called 'The Power of Sight'.

There's nothing complicated about the creativity so it's a card that would be suitable for any level of creative to make. The colours can be altered to suit and although my card has some dimension it could easily be created without.

I worked on heavy cardstock for the background. It was created with a combination of Distress Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Speckled Egg, Crackling Campfire, Tumbled Glass) and Distress Oxides (Speckled Egg, Crackling Campfire) using what I have come to know as the 'wrinkle free distress' technique.

I stamped the Carabelle Studio stamp 'The Power of Sight' in black onyx versafine ink to the left of the inky background panel.
In and around the stamped image I added some Salty Ocean distress ink stenciling using 13Arts Horoscope stencil, moving the stencil around as I worked and only stenciling parts of the design.
Couldn't resist splattering some paint around too!!

I then focused on the stamped image. First the eyes. They were watercoloured with Salty Ocean Distress Ink,  the pupils highlighted with a white pen and treated to some Glossy Accents.

Then the butterfly wing. It was also watercoloured with Distress Inks: Crackling Campfire and Salty Ocean.  I doubled up the wing by simply stamping that part of the Carabelle Studio stamp again on a spare piece of card, colouring it as before, cutting it out and adhering it to the butterfly wing on the background panel.

By adhering the second wing only at what would be the thorax and manipulating it slightly before adhering gave it some dimension and a subtle sense of movement.

The finshed panel was matt n layered onto white and black card before being adhered to a handmade card. A couple of label tape accents made for great finishing touches to the design.

Products I used:
