Snowflake Bauble ATC by Amanda Pink

 Hi Everyone and Welcome,

This week I've made a start on some Christmas creativity so today I'm sharing a little piece of home decor I've created using some of That's Crafty's fabulous MDF surfaces and greyboard elements. It's a chunky ATC that features a snowflake bauble on the front and a sentiment on the back.

The MDF Chunky ATC's are sold 'flat pack' so they need assembling but the pieces interlock each other very easily and adhere together well with some That's Crafty Multi Surface Adhesive.

I didn't create directly on the MDF but instead chose to work on mixed media paper that I then cut to size to cover the Chunky ATC.  I did however give the ATC a base colour by simply painting it white using PaperArtsy Snowflake Fresco Finish Acrylic.

On the mixed media paper I created a gelli print using a gel plate with a few PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic paint colours (Crispy Blue, Pool, Snowflake)  and a couple of stamps from PaperArtsy's Eclectica stamps designed by Seth Apter (the large 'bubble wrap' type stamp from ESA01,  the small dot stamp from ESA02).

Then came some detail stamping using the small square texture stamp from another of Seth's PaperArtsy stampsets (ESA13) , along with some text using the 'Holiday Words' stamp from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous 'Stripes and Holiday Words' Stampset (CMS281).

The stamped gelli print was (as mentioned above) cut to cover the Chunky ATC and  also a couple of That's Crafty! MDF baubles that I stacked together for the focal feature. The baubles are sold in sets of 2 A4 MDF sheets that contain lots of different sized baubles in 2 different designs.

To sit atop the baubles I  embossed one of That's Crafty Greyboard Snowflakes with Seth Apters Emerald Creek 'White Cloud' Baked Velvet EP.
For a touch of snowflake sparkle I sprinkled the spikes with Tim Holtz Distress Stickles and embellished the centre of the snowflake with one of Tim's Ideology 'Fluted Snowflakes'.

The embossing continued through to the neck of the bauble. Stamping into the molten embossing powder with Seth's small square detail stamp I'd used on the background added some lovely delicate texture.  The 'hanging hole' was finished off with a metal eyelet.

The bauble was adhered to the front of the of the Chunky ATC  and to appreciate the dimension of the finished piece here's a view from one side....

and the other. You'll have noticed I 'lifted' the ATC from sitting flat on a surface by adding a couple of 'legs' - small wooden cubes painted white.

On the back of the chunky ATC I added a 'framed' sentiment. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Scribbled Woodland stampset and the frame was created with the line stamp from That's Crafty's Lynne's Affirmations Set 6 stampset designed by Lyne Moncrieff.
