Hello!
I have another of my samples from last week's One Day Special on Hochanda to share this week. This one was inspired by a type of blue and white pottery called Delft Blue as my parents in law have some of this and I've always loved it.
Step by Step:
I decided to use the entire kit on this one and it's actually easier than you might think as you can do the planning as you go along if you put the pieces in the intended places.
As I had decided on shades of blue with white, I began with Light Blue Multi Surface Paint and the twinchie shape nearest the top. I painted that and replaced it, making it easier to see where to paint the next ones at random and if you look at the main photo you can see them.
I then repeated the process with a mid blue created by adding a little Bright Blue to the Light Blue, again in a random pattern. I followed up with the darkest shade created by mixing a little Midnight into the Light Blue and the remainder were painted Ivory, a slightly warmer white.
Once the tiles were all dry, I began stamping on them with the Small Elements images in shades of blue ink. In a couple of areas, I added an image stamped on white card and cut out. I also painted some of the Craftyboard Small Elements with Buttercup and blue to contrast with the tiles they were situated on.
I glued all the pieces in place with Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive, starting at the top left triangular shaped edge piece and I highly recommend this as it's the best way to make sure the pieces end up in the right place!
