Your Quiet Mind by Lynne Moncrieff

Hello

For many, nature is a source of quiet time, maybe time in their garden or a walk to a nearby beauty spot or the sight of a feather floating in the air or new buds forming.

PaperArtsy Eclectica EAB stamps are a constant source of inspiration for me, whether using the full quote or dipping into a quote to find suitable words.

Instructions

Amongst my stack of painted papers I had this one, which is rag paper/watercolour paper, originally prepared with walnut ink, Flat Matte Sprays and Gesso. I decided to use this panel as the surface I would adhere to the That's Crafty! MDF Round.

To this, Pearl Inks were applied, first splattering them onto the surface

before quickly spraying with water and allowing the inks to spread into the paper, manipulating the panel to focus colour towards left side.

In the photo below, more colour added towards this side.

To this, more water and splatters. building up the layers.

As I worked on this panel, I also painted a circle cut from the A4 circles stencil.

The smaller paper circle was then adhered to the larger panel, slightly off-centre.

For the focal, I stumbled across a Carved Leaf which had been prepared some time ago, stamped with Distress Inks and Flat Matte Sprays.

Pearl Inks were added to give more depth to the stamped leaf.

When applying the Pearl Inks, I worked with an almost a wet on wet technique.

With the leaf then adhered to the panel, I set about adding more definition to the edges of the panel.
Touches of Metallic Antique Gold were added.

Partially inking up the EM42 stamp, bringing detail to the background.

Dipping the end of a brush into the Acrylic Liquid Wax, drops were then added to the stamped leaf.

A quote from EAB03 onto stamped onto rusted rice paper.

Tearing around this quote, leaving the words "your quiet mind". Acrylic Liquid Wax was applied to this along with a fragment of the rusted paper.

A detail of the focal on this panel.

Thank you for stopping by, it is always greatly appreciated.
