Hi Everyone
For this weeks post I am sharing with you a double spread art journal page which ended up getting a bit 'trippy' and love and peace channelling my inner hippy I think, I put it down to too much sun lol.
Here's What I Did:
I'm working in my Dylusions A5 art journal and this page began as many as mine do from pages that I had previously wiped paint on from cleaning my brayer from previous projects. I selected some stencils and began building the background up.
I started just laying some paints down, laying the stencil on it and then removing using a baby wipe, I had to work really quickly as the paint was drying faster than normal in the current hot weather.
Then the first outing for AALL & Creates Sundew, a new favourite, stencilling paint through. I then added some stamping using Katzelkraft & AALL & Create stamps.
Once happy with my background I chose my images from a magazine, this page uses a film image of the fabulous James Stewart and some hippy circles also from the magazine. I also cut out some hearts from some Dina Wakley Washi tape and added them to the page.
Once glued into place I then trimmed to fit the page. Next step was to add the stamped images which are all Katzelkraft stamps. Stamped onto stamping card with Versafine Clair and coloured with coloured pencils.
I just had to pop the parrot onto James Stewarts shoulder.
Final addition was to add the text, the original magazine piece came with the word war so I replecated the font (as best I could) to complete the quote. Each letter was die cut and coloured with Candid Apple Distress Ink and glued to the pages. The black edging was added with a fine black Posca pen. I know it's a bit wacky but it was a really fun page to make and that's what it's all about I think.

Stunning pages Amanda. Such amazing detail on the layered background and love how you combined magazine cut outs to create the pages.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your hippy side came out for this.

A fabulous double page spread of rainbow positivity... nothing wrong with a bit of hippy hopefulness. Amazing layers, and I love James Stewart, so that just adds to the joy.
