Plant a Garden by Helen Chilton

I'm working with some Sara Naumann stamps from PaperArtsy this week. They've got a couple of images and some great text.

I started off by stencilling a tag using one of Melina's masks and some Texture Paste. Then I painted it in various blues and cut it in half.
I then stamped the large leaves in two colours using my Stamping Platform.

In order to add some definition, I then edged the stamp with a black felt pen and re-stamped it.

Still using the Platform, I drew in some veins in a dark green and stamped those.

The other leaves also had some definition added.

After that you just need to cut everything out and layer it up.

Supplies:
PaperArtsy Cling Mounted Stamp Set - Eclectica³ - Sara Naumann - ESN20
That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints: Bright Blue, Teal, Lime
That's Crafty! 6ins x 6ins Mask - Flowers Galore
That's Crafty! Light Texture Paste
That's Crafty! Surfaces White/Greyboard Tags - Pack of 6 - #10
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads: Evergreen Bough, Cracked Pistachio, Mowed Lawn
VersaFine Clair Ink Pads: Nocturne
Watercolour pens

I love the Mowed Lawn colour of the smaller leaves and the way they're kind of shabby looking. I added a few stamped dots in the unstencilled areas. Hope you've enjoyed this project!

  1. Such a lovely idea Helen. Love the beautiful colours and the way you added the veins on the leaves is so clever.
