Hi Everyone
Welcome to my Thursday weekly DT post!
This week I have a 'Tim Holtz' inspired art panel to share with you featuring one of my favourite stamps sets from Tim's February 2020 release: Professor 2. This is now available in the shop along with some of Tim's other Feb release. Just click here to check them out.
The background panel was created using Tim Holtz 'Wrinkle Free Distress' technique working with several Distress Oxide inks. I simply applied the inks to my craft mat, spritz them with water, smooshed my panel of mixed media paper through the ink, dried with a heat gun and repeated the process numerous times to gradually build up layers of interesting colour and detail.
I then added some background stamping using Archival ink with a couple of Tim's stampsets (listed below)
Next to add some texture. For this I applied crackle paste through one of Tim Holtz Laying stencils, enhancing the cracks with a distress crayon once dry.
The corners of the background panel are embellished with some of the 'corner brackets' from That's Crafty's 'small cogs' greyboard sheet. They were painted with Black Soot Distress paint and fixed to the panel with brads.
The focal feature is of course The Professor or as I should say The 'Professors' given theres two! Are they the Wright brothers or Tim and Mario maybe?
Some Glossy Accents helped accentuate the google lenses and to finish off the panel I added a distressed quote chip: Embrace the Journey!

Oh, that is magnificent. I was already enjoying the twin Professors, but seeing all those crackle texture close-ups and those fabulous metal corner pieces... I'm sold!!
