Hi Everyone
I have a card for you this week and I am giving another new stamp from Carabelle Studio it's first inking.
Here's What I Did:
I need to be honest with you this isn't what I had set out to make for this weeks post, I was playing, for the first time, with the new Dina Wakley sprays and was using them to spray through the stencil, however when I lifted the stencil the inks had all leaked under the stencil, which is very fine, but as there was a lot of spray sitting on top of the stencil I just flipped it over onto a piece of white card and took a print from it. Back to the drawing board with the Dina sprays but that's for another day. Any way I had myself a background be it not as I had intended. So what to do with it?
I went through some new, un-inked stamps I have and this stamp from Carabelle Studio was there so that is what took me to make this card.
As this is quite a solid stamp I used a stamp platform knowing that if I didn't get a good enough impression I could re ink it and do it again. It took a few goes as I was also stamping over the gloss of the sprays. I have to admit I did resort to touching up in a few places with a black pen.
After the main image I added some touches of stamping up the left hand side to give it some balance along with the top right hand corner. I then chose a selection of Zig markers in colours that matched closely to the Dina Wakley colours and added some coloured details to the stamped image. The birds that you can see flying out of the left hand side are not within the Carabelle stamp they are from a That's Crafty! stamp set and I have stamped them on top to add a little additional detail.
As there is a star within the stamped image I added 3 additional stars using three chipboard stars that I spray with the Dina Wakley sprays and glued them over the stamping.
The final touch was to stamp out the words 'Be Beautiful' using the That's Crafty! Lots of Words stamp set.
All was then mounted onto black card and added to an 8" x 8" card blank.
Here's What I Used:
Dina Wakley Media Gloss Sprays - Ocean, Lime, Lemon & Magenta
Versafine Clair Ink Pad - Noctourne
That's Crafty! Stamp Set - Lots of Words
That's Crafty! Stamp Set - Lynne's Affirmations Set 2
Kuretake Zig Clean Colour Pens - 041, 033, 025, 052 & 050
Stamping Platform
Card Blank
Have a good week and stay safe
See you next Tuesday

This might not be as you intended Amanda but what you did with the flipped stencil looks fabulous and is something I do all the time.
ReplyDeleteThe contrast of the black stamping with the colourful stencil work looks fantastic.

Super cool and definitely fabulous. I'm glad the initial spraying didn't quite go according to plan because I really love the print you rescued from the situation. So gorgeous as a light delicate background to the bold black stamping - love it.
