The stamped word "pausing" is set apart from the other stamped words, as a means of balance to the composition but also set within the torn squares of Infusions stained book text, a meditative prompt.

Instructions
Tear re-cycled paper to size of MDF panel. Begin applying various media. The Gesso and Texture Paste are scraped on and scraped off paper. Spray walnut ink, dabbing off excess with cloth. Flick, diluted Midnight paint onto paper. Drip Silver and Black Pearl Inks, in some areas, dabbing off excess with cloth. dhere paper to MDF panel.
Another step in preparation, applying Gesso to book text followed by Infusions. I prepare a stack of book pages, with the Gesso and then dipping into various Infusions, misting the Gesso'd paper with water before sprinkling on the Infusions, sometimes titling the page to allow the stain to drip and then laying flat, to air dry.
The That's Crafty! butterfly was stamped onto an acrylic square,
edging with Black paint. Layering to torn tag, stamped with script
which in turn is layered to a torn panel from the Infusions stained book page.
Finally, layering this onto another torn tag.
Adhere length torn from Infusions book text to bottom of panel.
Five "squares" were torn from the very same Infusions stained book page, adhering to upper left side of panel, leaving space for stamped word.
Onto scrap paper, stamping Eclectica EAB quote.
Cutting out word "pausing", adhering into space.
The remaining words I wanted to work with "in her flight awhile", adhered below butterfly image, with black fineliner pen edging the stamped words. With black watersoluble pencil, highlighting the edges of the tags and paper edges.

This is lovely, a really special technique.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much !
DeleteStummng atmospheric work as always, Lynne. I love how you've created a pause in the word fragment as the eye travels in search of the next phrase. The butterfly is beautiful.

Alison,
DeleteThank you for noting that. It was a conscious move on my part to create a pause but at the same time, a flow in the collage.
Greatly appreciate the time you take to comment.

Fliss, thank you so very much.
DeleteWith this house move, although much continues to be packed in large plastic storage boxes, it was also a time of discovering items such as the acrylic shapes :)
