Hi Everyone
I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and that you are all ready for another crafty year or in fact another crafty decade.
I get the pleasure of kicking off the blog this year and hope that, along with all my talented team mates, that we bring you lots of crafty inspiration.
For my first post of 2020 I bring you a little pixie dust, in the form of a card, to bring you all luck for the year ahead.
Here's What I Did:
I started as I always do with my background, this is a piece from my stash that was created using Dina Wakley paints and a brayer just building up colour till I was happy with the result. I then cut a piece to size that would be for my card front. I then added some stamped detail to the background using a couple of AALL & Create stamps and stamped them using Stazon pigment ink in Pink Cosmos, I have found these ink pads brilliant to stamp over painted backgrounds.
I then wanted a star to mount each of these girls on and I created these using That's Crafty! Star stencil and Holographic Gel Medium. Each star within the stencil has a different pattern on them so each star is different. Once the gel was dry I then cut out the star shape from the acetate and edged each star with more of the Pink Cosmos pigment ink to give them an edge.
The Holographic Gel is not the easiest to photograph made a little more difficult as it's on acetate but hopefully you get the idea from these closeup photo's.
I stamped the pixie girls onto white stamping card with Memento ink and coloured with alcohol pens and then cut them out and added to their own star. Sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of the background paper, and edged with the pink cosmos ink. Once all put together I layered it onto some metallic silver card and then added to the card blank.
Here's What I Used:
#251 Pixie Dust (back in stock soon)
Stazon Pigment Ink Pad - Pink Cosmos & Piano Black
Alcohol Pens - I used Copics but lots of other colouring mediums HERE
Acetate Sheet
DL Card Blank
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy a very crafty 2020
Love

I love the grungy look of the background. It really suits those cute yet clearly crazy pixies! A really fun way to kick off the New Year.

Absolutely fabulous card Amanda. The background is grungily gorgeous and love how you created the stars for the quirky pixies to sit on.
