Happy Christmas everyone!
I have a mixed media card to share this week featuring a rather frosty looking bauble that I had great fun altering up for a really wintery look.
Step by Step:
The background came first and was the result of pressing a somewhat inky mask used for spraying ink on another background onto a piece of my ever useful ink spray overflow paper. I always do my ink spraying through a stencil or mask with a larger (usually A3 size) piece of paper underneath to catch the overflow that always results from this. I also use the same sheet to mop up spray from my glass mat as it sometimes ends up on there too!
As you can see on my card, you sometimes get accidental backgrounds that in my case, I sometimes like even more than those that are intentional. This one was cut to a square size and the edges distressed with an emery board before attaching to a kraft card blank.
I then created the bauble - an MDF one - by taking the same snowflake mask and placing it on top. I then pushed holographic fine texture paste through the mask to create a pattern. Once it was dry, I misted it with blackberry and sage flat matte sprays, followed up with lilac lustre spray.
I stamped my chosen text on the background with purple ink and then glued on the frosty bauble to finish.
